This ski is designed specifically for backcountry touring. Its lightweight poplar core and efficient climbing profile prioritize uphill travel, though the titanal-reinforced binding zone provides enough stability to handle resort laps when needed.

The 99mm waist offers a versatile middle ground. It provides sufficient surface area for float in softer, deep snow conditions, while the rocker-camber-rocker profile maintains enough edge grip to feel secure on firmer, variable alpine terrain.

The raised tail is primarily included to make kick-turns easier during steep ascents. It also allows for a more natural release at the end of a turn, which helps with maneuverability in tight trees or technical chutes.

At roughly 1600g to 1750g depending on length, the Boost 99 strikes a balance between weight savings and downhill performance. While not an ultralight race ski, it is light enough for long days in the backcountry without sacrificing the stability needed for variable snow.

The turn radius scales with the length of the ski to maintain consistent handling. You get a tighter 19m radius on the 168cm model for quicker turns, while the 188cm model extends to a 22m radius for more stability and confidence at higher speeds.
