Yes, a box spring is required for this bed frame. The included slats and center support are designed to provide a stable foundation for your box spring and mattress combination.

Assembly is straightforward, but because of the size and weight of the hickory logs, we recommend having two people to help position the headboard and footboard. All necessary hardware is included in the kit.

The clear-coat catalyzed lacquer provides a durable, protective seal that makes cleaning simple. Just wipe the logs down with a soft, dry cloth or a slightly damp microfiber cloth to remove dust; avoid harsh chemical cleaners that could damage the finish.

The bark is naturally durable, but because this is a handcrafted piece made from real hickory logs, minor variations and natural shedding can occur over time. This is part of the organic character of the wood and does not affect the structural integrity of the bed.

Because each bed is handcrafted using natural hickory logs, there will be slight variations in the exact shape and diameter of the logs. While the overall dimensions of 65 inches high, 43 inches wide, and 85 inches deep are standard, please allow for minor variances inherent to working with natural materials.
