The standard rail configuration is designed to hold a box spring and mattress, sitting higher off the ground. The platform style includes finished plywood supports, allowing you to place your mattress directly on the frame without needing a box spring.

All available wood species—Oak, Brown Maple, Rustic Cherry, Cherry, and Quarter Sawn White Oak—are solid hardwoods that offer excellent durability. The choice primarily impacts the grain pattern and color; for example, Quarter Sawn White Oak features a distinct, tight grain with unique 'ray fleck' patterns, while Cherry will darken and deepen in color over time.

The bed arrives in components and requires assembly, but it is straightforward for most homeowners. You will need basic tools and a second person to help position the headboard and footboard while securing the side rails.

Because this is a handcrafted solid wood frame, it is best suited for standard mattress foundations. If you plan to use an adjustable base, you may need to place the base inside the frame, which might require removing the wooden slats or platform supports.

To maintain the wood's beauty, dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth and avoid harsh chemical cleaners or furniture polish containing silicone. Keep the bed away from direct heat sources or prolonged direct sunlight to prevent the wood from drying out or fading unevenly.
