The butterfly leaf is built directly into the table. You simply pull the two ends of the tabletop apart, unfold the hinged leaf stored underneath, and push the ends back together to lock it in place.

The table measures 66 inches in length when closed. While the exact extended length is not specified, a standard butterfly leaf typically adds 12 to 18 inches, comfortably increasing your seating capacity beyond the standard six people.

The rough-sawn texture adds character and a rustic feel, but it does create small grooves in the wood. You will want to use a damp cloth for spills and may need to use a soft brush occasionally to clear crumbs from the textured grain.

Assembly is required, primarily involving attaching the Marlborough legs to the tabletop frame. It is a straightforward process, but because the table weighs 145 pounds, we recommend having two people on hand to flip the table upright once the legs are secured.

The tobacco leaf finish is a rich, warm brown with rustic undertones. Because it features natural wood veneers and distressing, it is designed to blend well with other traditional or farmhouse-style pieces rather than matching perfectly with uniform, factory-finished furniture.
