A live edge design means the wood retains the natural, irregular contour of the tree's outer edge rather than being cut into a perfectly straight line. Because of this, every Pagosa bench features a unique silhouette that highlights the raw character of the wood slab.

Wormy Maple offers a lighter, creamy tone with distinct, dark mineral streaks caused by ambrosia beetles. Rustic Cherry provides a warmer, reddish hue that darkens over time, while Rustic Walnut is the darkest option, known for its rich, chocolate-brown tones and prominent grain patterns.

The metal base is engineered for stability, but like any furniture with a rigid frame, it performs best on level surfaces. If your floor is slightly uneven, we recommend using small felt pads or leveling glides under the base to ensure the bench remains rock-solid.

The live edge is sanded and finished to be smooth to the touch, so it won't snag clothing or feel sharp. However, because the edge follows the natural shape of the tree, it is not a uniform, flat surface, which is something to consider if you prefer a perfectly straight edge for leaning.

While specific weight capacities can vary based on the wood species, the combination of solid hardwood and a structural metal base makes this bench exceptionally sturdy. It is designed to easily support the weight of multiple adults for standard seating.

The bench typically arrives with the base detached to ensure safe transit. You will need to attach the metal legs to the wood top, which generally requires basic tools and a few minutes of time.
