Rúngne Maglock Primer

Maglock Primer is a base layer, not a replacement for chalk. Its ultra-fine formula is designed to prep your skin by drying it out and creating a high-friction foundation, which helps your regular chalk adhere more consistently throughout your climb.

Not necessarily. Most climbers find that a single application at the start of a session or before a particularly difficult project is sufficient to improve grip consistency for several attempts.

Because it is an ultra-fine powder, it absorbs quickly into the skin's pores rather than sitting on the surface. It is designed to be subtle and should not leave a thick, caked-on residue on your hands or the rock.

The formula includes amino acids alongside drying agents like silica silylate and magnesium carbonate. While it is generally safe, if you have a history of skin irritation from drying agents, we recommend testing a small amount on your skin before full application.

A little goes a long way. Start with a very small amount—about the size of a pea—and rub it thoroughly into your palms and fingertips until it disappears into the skin.
