This mixed design optimizes performance for each end of the draw. The straight-gate carabiner on the bolt end provides a secure, snag-free connection to your protection, while the wire-gate carabiner on the rope end is lighter, easier to clip, and less prone to gate flutter.

The SphereLock closure creates a smooth, snag-free nose profile. This prevents the carabiner from catching on bolts or gear loops when you are cleaning a route or racking your gear.

The Karstop Evo is a rubber insert that keeps the rope-end carabiner fixed in the correct orientation. This prevents the carabiner from flipping or rotating, ensuring it stays positioned for easy, efficient clipping.

They are versatile enough for both. The durable nylon dogbone and reliable gate mechanisms make them a solid workhorse for sport projects, while their weight-conscious design is equally capable for trad climbing where every ounce counts.

The 12 cm length is standard for most sport routes where the line is relatively straight. The 18 cm length is useful for trad climbing or wandering routes, as it helps reduce rope drag by allowing the rope to run more freely through the protection.
