Imabari towels are produced in the Ehime prefecture of Japan under strict quality standards, including the famous 'five-second rule' which tests for superior water absorbency. These towels are crafted using specialized weaving techniques and high-quality organic cotton that result in a distinctively soft, durable texture that standard mass-market towels often lack.

While the long-pile construction is designed for a plush, cashmere-like feel, it is woven with high-quality, durable yarn to minimize shedding. To maintain the integrity of the loops, we recommend washing them in a laundry net and avoiding fabric softeners, which can coat the fibers and reduce absorbency.

These towels are engineered for longevity. Because they are made from high-grade organic cotton, the fibers are resistant to the stiffening often seen in lower-quality towels. With proper care, they will retain their soft, plush feel even after many laundry cycles.
