The filter is designed to block specific yellow and orange light wavelengths emitted by common streetlights. By cutting out this artificial light pollution, it helps restore the natural contrast and color balance of the night sky, making stars and celestial details stand out more clearly.

While it is specifically engineered for astrophotography and night cityscapes, you can use it during the day. However, it will shift the color balance of your images, so it is generally not recommended for standard daylight shooting unless you are looking for a specific creative effect.

This filter has a 77mm diameter and uses a standard threaded mount. You should check the front of your lens barrel for a symbol that looks like a circle with a slash through it (ø) followed by a number; if that number is 77, this filter will fit directly.

Actually, the Nano-Xcel coating makes cleaning easier. It is designed to repel water, oil, and dust, meaning smudges and fingerprints are less likely to stick to the glass and can be wiped away with minimal effort.

The filter features a standard frame profile. While it is generally fine for most lenses, if you are using an ultra-wide-angle lens, there is a small possibility of vignetting at the very widest focal lengths. It is best to test it on your specific setup.

The rubberized ridges are there to provide extra grip. They make it significantly easier to screw the filter onto your lens or remove it, especially when you are working in the dark or wearing gloves.
