Wood offers a distinct, natural buoyancy that makes the blade feel lighter in the water during the recovery phase of your stroke. It also provides a quieter, more forgiving entry compared to the rigid 'slap' of a stiff carbon blade, which can reduce fatigue over long days.

The ovalized grip provides a natural index for your hands, helping you maintain the correct blade orientation without having to look down. It also fills the palm more comfortably than a perfectly round shaft, reducing the grip strength needed to control the paddle.

The Navigator is specifically designed for a relaxed, low-angle stroke. The blade shape is optimized for efficiency and comfort during long-distance touring rather than the aggressive, high-cadence strokes used in whitewater or sprinting.

At 29.5 ounces, this paddle sits in a comfortable middle ground. While it isn't the lightest pure-carbon paddle on the market, the combination of the lightweight carbon shaft and the buoyant wood blades makes it feel very balanced and easy to swing for extended periods.
