Hydrofarm Plant Yo-Yo

The yo-yo uses a retractable string mechanism that provides constant, gentle tension. Because the string is soft and adjustable, it cradles the stem rather than constricting it, which helps prevent the bruising or snapping often caused by rigid ties or wire.

These are best suited for lighter stems or training young growth. While they are excellent for keeping plants upright, they are not designed to bear the full weight of heavy, mature fruit clusters on their own; you may need additional support for very large plants.

The included plastic stopper allows you to lock the string at your desired length. Once you pull the string to the necessary tension, you simply secure it with the stopper to prevent the internal mechanism from retracting further.

While they are highly effective in indoor and greenhouse environments where you have a structure to hang them from, they can be used outdoors if you have a trellis or overhead frame to attach them to. They are not designed to be free-standing.

Each unit features a string that extends up to 60 inches. This provides plenty of range for most vertical growing needs, whether you are training a vine or supporting a tall, slender stalk.
