The VCII features a movable accessory foot, which allows you to adjust its position on the shoe mount. This design makes it highly compatible with most classic rangefinders, including Leica M-series, Bessa, and other vintage models.

It uses a silicon cell with a 30-degree angle of acceptance, providing a center-weighted reading. You simply set your film speed on the dial, point the camera at your subject, and use the LED indicators to adjust your aperture or shutter speed until you see the center light confirm the correct exposure.

To preserve battery life, the meter includes an automatic 10-second exposure lock. It will turn off shortly after you take a reading, so you will need to press the button again if you wait too long between metering and firing the shutter.

Yes, the silicon sensor is fast and reliable, offering an EV range of 1 to 20. While it is excellent for general shooting, slide film has less latitude than negative film, so you may want to double-check your readings in high-contrast lighting situations.

The unit is powered by two LR44 or SR44 batteries. It features an easy-access hinged battery compartment, so you can swap them out quickly in the field without needing any tools.
