Aogami #2, or Blue Paper steel, is a high-carbon steel known for holding a razor-sharp edge exceptionally well. Because it is high-carbon, it is susceptible to rust if left wet, so you should wipe the blade dry immediately after use and occasionally oil it to keep it in top condition.

While the Moku is excellent for light garden maintenance, camping prep, and craft projects, it is not designed for heavy-duty tasks like batoning wood or prying. Its strength lies in its precision and sharpness rather than brute force.

The plywood handle is surprisingly durable and provides a stable, comfortable grip that resists warping better than some solid woods. It offers a nice balance of traditional aesthetic and modern utility, making it reliable for regular, everyday use.
