This lantern is primarily designed as a decorative garden sculpture. While it features an open cage design, it does not include a built-in oil reservoir or candle housing, so you would need to place a separate light source inside if you intend to illuminate it.

The lantern is designed to be stacked, with the top, cage, legs, and base fitting together to create a balanced silhouette. Because it weighs 161 lbs, the components are quite stable on their own, but we recommend placing it on a level, solid surface like a stone patio or a compacted gravel pad.

The stone is crafted to weather naturally over time, which often enhances the authentic, aged look of the piece. While the custom stain finishes are durable, prolonged exposure to direct sunlight and moisture will eventually soften the color, contributing to a more organic, lived-in appearance.

Due to the 161 lb total weight, the individual components are heavy and awkward to handle alone. We strongly recommend having at least two people available to safely lift and stack the pieces during assembly.

Very little. Because it is made of stone, it is naturally weather-resistant. You can simply rinse it with a garden hose to remove dust or debris, and avoid using harsh chemical cleaners that might strip the custom stain finish.
