The Forekaster is designed to be versatile enough for both positions. Many riders prefer it as a rear tire paired with a more aggressive tread up front, but it works perfectly well as a front-and-rear setup for riders who prioritize rolling speed and efficiency on mixed terrain.

While the Forekaster is highly capable, it is optimized for short-travel trail and down-country bikes rather than heavy-duty enduro. If you are riding extremely rocky, high-speed terrain, you might prefer a beefier tire like the Maxxis Assegai or Minion DHF for extra sidewall support.

EXO is a dense, cut-resistant material added to the sidewalls of the tire. It significantly reduces the risk of slashes and abrasions when you are riding over sharp rocks or roots, which is essential for maintaining a tubeless seal on technical trails.

You can absolutely run this tire with an inner tube. While it is 'Tubeless Ready' and designed to perform best at lower pressures without a tube, the folding bead construction is fully compatible with standard clincher setups.

MaxxTerra is a dual-compound rubber that balances grip and longevity. It uses a harder base layer for stability and rolling efficiency, with softer knobs on the surface to provide better traction during cornering and braking without wearing out as quickly as a super-soft race compound.
