It is versatile enough to be used in both positions. Many riders prefer it as a rear tire for its fast-rolling speed, but it also works well as a front tire on dry, loose trails where you need predictable cornering without excessive drag.

Wide Trail (WT) casing is optimized for modern rims with an inner width between 30mm and 35mm. If your rims are within this range, the tire profile will sit correctly, providing the intended support and cornering stability.

The EXO casing is a cut-resistant and abrasion-resistant material added to the sidewalls. While it provides a solid balance of durability and weight for trail riding, it is not a full-downhill casing, so it is best suited for general trail use rather than aggressive rock gardens.

While it is designed as a tubeless-ready tire, it can absolutely be used with inner tubes. You will still benefit from the tread pattern and rubber compound, though you will lose the puncture-sealing and lower-pressure advantages of a tubeless setup.

The dual compound uses a harder rubber in the center for better rolling efficiency and longevity, while softer rubber on the side knobs provides extra grip when leaning into corners. It is a smart compromise that helps the tire last longer without sacrificing traction.
