Specialized Air Trak Tire

The Air Trak is optimized for hardpack and fast, dry trails. While the Gripton T7 shoulder compound offers decent cornering grip, its tread pattern is designed for speed rather than shedding mud or biting into loose, loamy terrain.

While it is designed as a 2Bliss Ready tubeless tire, you can certainly use it with an inner tube. However, running it tubeless is recommended to take full advantage of the lower pressures and flat protection the casing is engineered for.

The dual-compound setup gives you the best of both worlds: the T5 center compound minimizes rolling resistance for straight-line speed, while the softer T7 shoulder compound provides the extra traction needed to lean the bike confidently through corners.

The Flex Lite casing is designed to be supple, meaning it conforms well to trail imperfections rather than bouncing over them. This results in a smoother ride quality and better overall traction, especially when running lower tire pressures.

At 575g with a 60 TPI casing, this tire balances weight and durability well. While it is built for race-day performance, it is robust enough for regular training, provided you aren't riding on extremely sharp, rocky terrain that requires a heavier, reinforced casing.
