Asano Tawara Lamp

The lamp uses an E17 base bulb with a maximum wattage of 25 watts. We recommend using a warm-toned LED bulb to best complement the soft diffusion of the Mino washi paper.

While traditional washi paper is delicate by nature, it is surprisingly resilient when treated with care. It is designed for indoor use, so simply avoid placing it in high-traffic areas where it might be bumped or exposed to direct moisture.

Unlike opaque fabric shades that direct light primarily up and down, the washi paper allows light to glow softly through the entire surface of the shade. This creates a gentle, ambient diffusion that eliminates harsh shadows and warms up the surrounding space.

The Tawara Lamp is designed for ambient, mood-setting illumination rather than task lighting. It is best suited for creating a calm atmosphere in a bedroom or living room corner, rather than lighting an entire space for reading or work.

To maintain the shade, use a soft, dry microfiber cloth or a feather duster to gently remove any accumulated dust. Avoid using water or cleaning solutions, as these can damage the paper's texture and integrity.
