This appliance bakes the donuts rather than frying them. It uses heated plates to cook the batter, which results in a cake-like texture similar to a muffin or a baked donut rather than the crispy, deep-fried version you might find at a bakery.

The nonstick coating is quite effective, so you generally only need to wipe the plates down with a damp cloth or a soft sponge once the unit has cooled. Avoid using metal utensils, as they can scratch the coating and compromise the nonstick performance.

This model is designed to make seven mini donuts per batch. They are bite-sized, making them perfect for snacking, decorating with kids, or serving as a dessert platter at parties.

The unit begins heating as soon as it is plugged into an outlet. There is no separate on/off switch, so you should be ready to pour your batter once the indicator light signals that it has reached the proper temperature.

You can absolutely use your own recipes, provided they are for a cake-style donut batter. The included recipe guide is a great starting point to understand the consistency needed, but any standard baked donut batter will work well in this machine.
