Absolutely. The slow-drip method is excellent for cold-brewing loose-leaf teas, as it extracts complex aromatics without the bitterness that can sometimes occur with high-temperature steeping.

We recommend a medium-fine grind, similar to what you would use for a standard pour-over. If the grind is too coarse, the water will pass through too quickly; if it is too fine, it may clog the metal filter.

The Hario is made from high-quality heatproof glass, but it should still be handled with care. We recommend hand-washing the glass components with a soft sponge and mild detergent to prevent scratching or accidental breakage.

The included metal filter is designed to be used on its own, which allows more of the coffee's natural oils to pass through into your brew. You do not need paper filters, though some users prefer to place a small paper filter on top of the coffee bed to help distribute the water droplets more evenly.
