The wheel allows you to manually raise or lower the cooking grate between 4 and 23 inches above the fire. This gives you precise control over the heat intensity, letting you sear meats close to the coals or slow-roast them further away.

Refractory bricks are designed to withstand and retain high temperatures. They act as a heat sink, ensuring your firebox maintains a consistent, steady heat distribution rather than fluctuating wildly as the wood or charcoal burns down.

The V-grate is designed to channel grease away from the fire and into a dedicated collector, which helps prevent flare-ups. While it requires a bit more attention than a standard rod grate, the stainless steel construction makes it relatively straightforward to scrub down once it has cooled.

Because this is an open-fire Argentinian-style grill, it generates significant heat underneath the firebox. It is strongly recommended to use it only on non-combustible surfaces like stone, concrete, or brick to ensure safety.

The Puma is built on a wheeled cart, which makes it surprisingly maneuverable for its size. While it is a substantial piece of equipment, the wheels allow you to position it easily on flat, paved surfaces.

You can use either wood or charcoal. Hardwood is traditional for Argentinian-style grilling and provides the best flavor profile, but high-quality lump charcoal works perfectly well if you want a faster, more controlled start.
