Convertible ducting means this hood can be installed in two ways: vented externally, where smoke and odors are pushed outside through ductwork, or recirculating, where air is filtered and returned to the kitchen. This flexibility is ideal if you cannot easily route ductwork through your ceiling or wall.

While matte black is generally more forgiving than glossy finishes, it can still show smudges. Regular maintenance with a soft, microfiber cloth and a mild, non-abrasive cleaner will keep the surface looking pristine.

This unit is 36 inches wide. For the best performance, your range hood should be at least as wide as your cooktop, though many designers prefer a hood that is 3 to 6 inches wider than the cooking surface to capture smoke more effectively.

While the installation is straightforward for someone with experience in home improvement, it involves electrical wiring and mounting heavy equipment. If you are not comfortable with these tasks, we recommend hiring a professional installer to ensure it is securely mounted and properly vented.

For optimal performance and safety, you should generally mount the hood between 24 and 30 inches above your cooking surface. Always check your specific cooktop manufacturer's guidelines, as some high-BTU ranges require a higher clearance.
