Defender Ring Lock

A cafe lock, or ring lock, is permanently mounted to your bike frame. When you engage it, a hardened steel bolt slides between your spokes to prevent the wheel from turning, making it impossible for someone to ride away with your bike during quick stops.

The AXA Defender features a flexible mounting system designed to accommodate most standard bicycle frames. However, you should ensure your frame has the necessary mounting holes or clearance near the rear wheel stays before purchasing.

On its own, the ring lock only immobilizes your rear wheel. To secure your bike to a fixed object like a pole or rack, you will need to purchase the optional plug-in cable or chain, which connects directly into the lock housing.

The lock weighs 720 grams. While it adds a small amount of weight to your bike, its compact, frame-mounted design keeps the center of gravity low, so it shouldn't noticeably impact your handling or ride quality.

Yes, the Defender includes an anti-drilling plate in the cylinder to prevent common theft techniques. While no lock is impenetrable, these features provide a significant deterrent against opportunistic tampering.
