WTB Expanse TCS Tire

The Expanse is designed primarily for gravel and all-road riding. It excels on hard-packed dirt, fire roads, and pavement, offering a smooth, fast-rolling profile that doesn't feel sluggish when you transition back onto the tarmac.

While the SG2 layer adds a necessary barrier against punctures, WTB engineered it to be lightweight and supple. You get the added peace of mind for rocky terrain without sacrificing the tire's ability to conform to the ground for better traction.

While it is optimized for WTB's Tubeless Compatible System (TCS), you can absolutely run it with inner tubes. However, running it tubeless will allow you to take full advantage of the tire's design, letting you run lower pressures for better comfort and grip.

The Dual DNA compound uses a firmer rubber in the center for speed and durability, while the side knobs use a softer, tackier rubber for cornering grip. This balance ensures the tire rolls efficiently on straights while providing confidence when you lean into turns.

The folding bead is designed to be flexible and easy to work with, making installation much simpler than rigid wire-bead tires. It seats well on most tubeless-ready rims, though using a tire lever may still be helpful depending on your specific rim width.
