SRAM Force Rear Derailleur

The Force 22 rear derailleur is specifically designed for the SRAM Force 22 groupset. While it may share some mechanical DNA with other SRAM road components, it is optimized for the 11-speed actuation of the Force 22 system and should not be mixed with non-compatible groupsets.

While the Force 22 is engineered primarily for road cycling, its robust construction allows it to handle varied road surfaces. However, if you are frequently riding in rough gravel or muddy cyclocross conditions, you might consider a clutch-equipped derailleur for better chain management.

The standard Force 22 rear derailleur is designed to work with cassettes up to 28 teeth. If you are planning to run a larger cassette, you will likely need the WiFLi version of this derailleur to accommodate the increased range.

Installation requires standard bicycle tools, including a set of hex keys and a chain tool. You will also need a cable cutter to trim the housing and inner cable to the correct length for your specific frame geometry.

The Force 22 derailleur offers nearly identical shifting performance and geometry to the top-tier Red 22 model. The primary difference is the use of slightly heavier materials, which makes Force a more cost-effective choice without sacrificing precision or reliability.
