These curtains are classified as room-darkening. While the thermal lining significantly blocks light and provides privacy, they may not achieve 100% total blackout in extremely bright, direct sunlight conditions.

The velvet material is naturally substantial, and the thermal lining adds a layer of weight that helps the curtains drape beautifully and stay in place. While they are heavier than unlined cotton or linen drapes, this weight is what gives them their luxurious, high-end feel and insulating performance.
