Because the aluminum receiver is significantly lighter than steel, you will feel more recoil, especially when shooting heavy 3-inch loads. It is an excellent choice for long days of walking in the field, but it is not designed for high-volume clay shooting where weight helps dampen felt recoil.

While it is primarily engineered for upland hunting, it functions perfectly fine for casual clay shooting. However, keep in mind that its lightweight build makes it less ideal for extended sessions at the range compared to heavier, dedicated sporting shotguns.

The shotgun utilizes the Technichoke system. It comes with a set of interchangeable chokes, allowing you to adjust your shot pattern based on the specific game you are pursuing or the distance of your targets.

The tang-mounted safety resets to 'safe' every time you open the action. While this is a great safety feature, it does require you to consciously disengage the safety before every shot, which is something to practice if you are used to manual-reset safeties.

The A-grade satin walnut is beautiful and provides a classic feel, but like any wood stock, it can scratch or ding if handled roughly in dense brush. It is durable enough for standard hunting use, but you should be prepared to perform routine maintenance to keep the wood in good condition.

The barrel selector, located on the safety tang, allows you to choose which barrel fires first. This is particularly useful when you want to fire a more open choke for a closer shot or a tighter choke for a longer shot, giving you more control over your pattern density.
