It is common for mouth calls to feel slightly large at first. If the tape edges are irritating the roof of your mouth, you can carefully trim the sides of the tape with sharp scissors, just be sure not to cut into the reeds themselves.

After each use, rinse the calls with cool water and let them air dry completely before putting them away. Storing them in a cool, dry place—ideally in a dedicated call case that allows for airflow—will prevent the reeds from sticking or developing mold.
