Wade Tokoro K3

The K3 is designed as a high-performance shortboard, meaning it excels in punchy, hollow, or steep waves where you need to stay tight in the pocket. Its increased rocker profile helps you navigate challenging sections without pearling, making it less ideal for mushy or very small, weak surf.

The deep single concave is engineered to channel water directly under the board, which creates significant lift and speed. This design provides a very responsive, 'locked-in' feel that allows for precise rail-to-rail transitions, though it requires a more active surfing style to fully engage.

While the K3 is a high-performance tool, it is generally better suited for advanced or experienced intermediate surfers. The 30-liter volume and performance-oriented rocker demand good wave positioning and technical footwork, so it may feel unstable if you are still transitioning from a larger board.

The squash tail provides a great balance of hold and release. It offers enough surface area to maintain speed through flatter sections of the wave while still allowing for the quick, aggressive pivot turns that the K3's rocker profile is designed to facilitate.

The PU foam construction offers a classic, dampened flex pattern that many surfers prefer for high-performance maneuvers, providing a predictable feel in the water. While it is generally more susceptible to pressure dings than epoxy, it offers superior vibration absorption and a more 'connected' ride.
