Kodiak Canvas Ground Tarp

This tarp is specifically cut and grommeted to fit the Kodiak 9x8 tent (Model 6098). While it could technically be used as a generic ground cover for other tents of similar size, the stake points and dimensions are optimized for the Kodiak footprint.

The tarp acts as a waterproof barrier, but it is not a drainage system. To prevent pooling, ensure your tent is pitched on slightly elevated or level ground and that the tarp is tucked completely under the tent floor so it does not catch rainwater.

The 11 mil polyethylene is significantly thicker and more durable than standard blue hardware-store tarps. It features a reinforced mesh core and welded hems, making it much more resistant to punctures from rocks and sticks while remaining flexible enough to fold easily.

Yes, using a footprint creates a clean buffer zone between the damp, dirty ground and your tent floor. It makes packing up much faster because you can simply shake off or wipe down the tarp rather than dealing with mud or debris stuck to the bottom of your tent.

The rustproof aluminum grommets are reinforced to handle standard tension. While they are designed to secure the tarp in place during setup, they are not intended to be the primary anchor point for the tent itself in extreme weather.
