These fins are specifically designed for retro twin-fin setups. They excel on boards that prioritize flow and speed, helping to stabilize the loose, skatey feel often associated with traditional twin-fin shapes.

The slightly more upright profile compared to a traditional, swept-back keel gives you more pivot and control. It makes the board feel more responsive and easier to turn in the pocket, rather than just locking you into long, drawn-out lines.

The Christenson Keel Especial uses the Futures fin system. Please ensure your surfboard has Futures fin boxes before purchasing, as they are not compatible with FCS or other systems.

Solid fiberglass provides a stiff, consistent flex pattern that doesn't twist or warp under pressure. This translates to a very predictable, reliable feel, especially when you are pushing hard through a turn or generating speed down the line.

While they maintain the aesthetic of a classic keel, the 'Especial' tweak is all about performance. The refined, upright shape offers a bit more versatility and maneuverability than a traditional, wide-based keel, which can sometimes feel too stiff or 'tracky' in smaller surf.
