The Cortado is a fantastic choice for intermediate riders looking to progress. Its medium flex and catch-free hybrid contour make it forgiving enough to learn on, but it has enough performance capability to keep advanced riders engaged across the whole mountain.

Magne-Traction creates multiple contact points along the edge, which significantly increases grip on hardpack and ice. You will feel a noticeable increase in stability and confidence when carving on firm snow compared to a traditional smooth edge.

While it is a directional board, it is designed for all-mountain versatility, not just one-way riding. You can certainly ride switch on the Cortado, though you may need to adjust your stance slightly if you spend a significant amount of time riding backward.

The Cortado features a gentle-entry nose and a directional shape that provides solid float in soft snow. While it won't replace a specialized powder board for bottomless days, it is more than capable of handling side-country stashes and variable powder conditions.
