Not primarily. This tire is designed for speed on hardpack, paved transitions, and dry gravel. While the shoulder tread offers some cornering grip, it lacks the deep knobs required for mud or loose, technical terrain.

While the tire is optimized for a tubeless setup to reduce rolling resistance and prevent pinch flats, it is compatible with inner tubes. However, for the best performance and puncture protection, we recommend running them tubeless.

The XPLR Slick is specifically engineered to integrate with modern wide-rim wheelsets. This pairing creates a more aerodynamic profile and allows for lower tire pressures, which improves both comfort and traction on rougher surfaces.

A 120 TPI (threads per inch) casing is relatively supple, which allows the tire to conform better to the road surface. This flexibility improves vibration damping and comfort, helping to reduce fatigue during long gravel races.

The UHP rubber compound is designed for performance and speed, which typically means a faster wear rate than a dedicated training tire. It is durable enough for regular use, but you may find it wears down quicker than heavier, more puncture-resistant options.
