The pumice material is designed to be effective yet gentle. However, if you have sensitive skin, start with light pressure and use circular motions to gauge your skin's tolerance before applying more force.

Rinse the file thoroughly under warm water after each use to remove skin debris. Allow it to air dry completely in a well-ventilated area to maintain hygiene and prevent bacterial buildup.

Like any abrasive tool, the effectiveness will decrease as the pumice wears down over time. Depending on how frequently you use it, you should replace the bar once it loses its grit or becomes too smooth to effectively exfoliate.

While specifically designed for the thick skin on heels and soles, it can be used on other calloused areas like elbows or knees. Use caution and very light pressure, as the skin in these areas is generally thinner than on the feet.
