The Eastern Tranny handlebars are constructed from 4130 chromoly steel. This material is the industry standard for BMX components because it offers an excellent strength-to-weight ratio and high durability for aggressive riding.

Post-weld heat treatment is a critical step that restores the strength of the metal around the weld points, which are typically the weakest areas of a handlebar. This process ensures the bars can handle the high-impact stress of street and park riding without bending or snapping.

Multi-butted tubing means the wall thickness of the steel varies throughout the bar. It is thicker in high-stress areas like the crossbar and grip bends for maximum strength, and thinner in low-stress areas to reduce overall weight without compromising structural integrity.

With a 228.6 mm rise, these bars provide a relatively tall front end, which is great for riders who prefer a more upright feel. The 12-degree backsweep and 1-degree upsweep offer a standard, comfortable wrist angle that feels natural for most park and street setups.

The unique acid wash finish provides a distinct, raw aesthetic that sets the bars apart visually. While it is primarily a stylistic choice, it is a durable finish that won't chip or peel like traditional paint, though it may develop a light patina over time.
