A 74-degree range of motion is exceptionally high, allowing for a natural, long stride that mimics walking in a hiking boot. This significantly reduces fatigue on long backcountry ascents by minimizing resistance during each step.

A 110 flex is considered a medium-stiff rating, offering a solid balance of power transmission and comfort. While it provides enough support for most backcountry skiers to charge through variable snow, heavier or highly aggressive skiers might find it slightly softer than a dedicated alpine boot.

Prolite construction removes unnecessary material in low-stress areas while reinforcing key zones for power transfer. This keeps the boot lightweight for climbing without sacrificing the structural integrity needed for confident downhill performance.

While the shell and liner are heat-moldable, this process requires specialized equipment and expertise to ensure a proper, pressure-free fit. We strongly recommend having this done by a professional boot fitter at a ski shop.

The Cross Lace 2.5 system uses a cable-based design to wrap the foot more uniformly than traditional buckles. This creates a precise, secure hold that eliminates common pressure points across the instep, which is especially helpful during long days in the backcountry.

The Atomic Backland XTD is designed primarily for touring bindings. You should check your binding's compatibility with touring soles, as the Skywalk rubber sole has a different profile than standard ISO alpine boot soles.
