These are dedicated alpine touring skis. While they can handle resort groomers, their lightweight construction and profile are optimized specifically for human-powered ascents and technical backcountry descents.

At 88mm underfoot, these skis are built for efficiency and edge control on hard, steep, or variable snow rather than deep powder flotation. If you primarily ski deep backcountry powder, you may find them a bit narrow.

The basalt layer adds mechanical strength and vibration dampening without the weight penalty of traditional metal laminates. It helps keep the ski stable and quiet on firm snow, which is essential when you are navigating technical terrain.

The aggressive camber provides excellent edge grip and energy return, but it does require an active, engaged skiing style. It is designed for skiers who prioritize precision and control over a loose, surfy feel.

This core combination is chosen specifically to keep the ski light for long climbs while maintaining enough dampening to prevent the 'chatter' often found in ultralight touring skis. It strikes a balance between uphill efficiency and downhill reliability.
