Dynafit Mezzalama

While the Mezzalama is designed specifically for Skimo racing, experienced backcountry skiers who prioritize weight savings above all else may enjoy it. However, keep in mind that its extreme minimalism means it lacks the comfort and downhill performance of a standard touring boot.

The Race Lock system is designed for speed, allowing you to switch between walk and ski modes in a single motion. It is highly efficient for race environments where every second counts, though it requires a bit of practice to master the quick-flick mechanism.

The Mezzalama is compatible exclusively with tech bindings (pin bindings). It does not feature the toe or heel lugs required for frame bindings or alpine downhill bindings.

The boot offers 70 degrees of cuff rotation, which provides an exceptionally natural and efficient stride on the skin track. This range of motion is a significant advantage for long, steep ascents where you want to minimize resistance.

A 98mm last is considered a performance fit, which is standard for race boots to ensure maximum power transfer and control. If you have a wider foot, you may find it quite snug, so professional boot fitting is highly recommended to address any potential pressure points.

The carbon fiber-reinforced cuff is built for rigidity and weight savings, not necessarily for heavy-duty daily abuse. While it is robust enough for racing and fast-paced objectives, treat it with care to maintain its structural integrity over time.
