The 10-degree rating is a comfort-limit rating, meaning it is designed to keep you warm in temperatures down to 10 degrees Fahrenheit. If you are a cold sleeper, you should plan to use a sleeping pad with a high R-value to prevent heat loss through the ground.

The mummy silhouette is designed to maximize thermal efficiency by keeping the down insulation close to your body. While it is more restrictive than a rectangular bag, the Lark UL is cut to balance that efficiency with enough room to shift positions comfortably.

Pertex Quantum Pro is highly wind-resistant and water-resistant, which helps protect the down insulation from moisture and drafts. This is particularly useful in damp alpine environments where condensation or light precipitation might otherwise compromise the bag's loft.

The footbox is the area most prone to wear and tear from contact with boots or gear inside the bag. The reinforced lining adds durability to this high-friction zone without adding significant weight to the overall package.
