Yes, the hoop structure creates a freestanding frame that holds the fabric off your face, providing much more interior volume than a traditional, flat bivy. While it is freestanding, you will still want to stake out the foot end to maximize the internal space and stability.

With an internal height of 60cm, this bivy is designed for sleeping, not sitting. You will have enough room to move your arms and change clothes while lying down, but it is not tall enough to sit upright.

It is built with a 15,000mm waterproof rating and a bathtub floor, which provides excellent protection against ground moisture and heavy rain. However, because it is a single-skin shelter with a mesh door, it is best suited for alpine environments where you are managing weather rather than enduring prolonged, severe storms.
