Orvis Convertible Waders

The convertible design allows you to drop the suspenders and roll the top down to waist height. This is particularly useful on hot days or during long hikes to the water when you need better ventilation without taking the waders off completely.

While these are designed to be ultralight and breathable, they are not as puncture-resistant as heavy-duty, multi-layer canvas waders. They are best suited for trail walking and wading, but you should exercise caution if you frequently fish in areas with dense, thorny undergrowth.

These use a breathable membrane rather than neoprene, which makes them significantly better at regulating body temperature during active movement. They won't provide the same level of insulation as neoprene, so you will need to layer appropriately with fleece or synthetic pants underneath during colder months.

Orvis booties are generally sized to accommodate a standard wading boot. If you plan on wearing very thick wool socks, you may want to size up, but for most anglers, the standard sizing is accurate and comfortable.

Rinse them thoroughly with fresh water after every use, especially if you are fishing in saltwater, and let them air dry completely away from direct sunlight. Periodically, you can re-apply a DWR (Durable Water Repellent) spray to the exterior to maintain the fabric's ability to shed water.
