Double Z

The internal stabilizer construction is designed to prevent the 'bouncy' sensation common in many air pads. It distributes your weight evenly across the surface, creating a more stable, supportive platform that feels closer to a mattress than a traditional inflatable.

With an R-value of 4.5, this pad is well-suited for three-season use and light winter conditions. The combination of PrimaLoft Silver insulation and heat-reflective technology provides a solid barrier against cold ground, though you may want a higher R-value for extreme sub-zero temperatures.

The Double Z inflates to a full four inches of thickness. This extra loft is significant, as it provides ample cushioning to keep your hips and shoulders from bottoming out on uneven or rocky terrain.

The two-piece valve is designed for efficiency rather than difficulty. One section allows for one-way inflation, meaning air won't escape while you're catching your breath, while the second section opens fully for rapid deflation when it's time to pack up.

Every Double Z comes with a dedicated repair kit included in the stuff sack. Because the pad is individually tested for leaks before leaving the factory, you are unlikely to encounter issues, but the kit allows for quick, reliable field repairs if you encounter sharp debris.

While all inflatable pads have some level of sound, the nylon ripstop used here is quieter than the crinkly, plastic-like materials found on many ultralight pads. It is durable and designed to minimize noise while you shift positions.
