This cassette is designed for 7-speed drivetrains using Shimano HG or IG chains. Before purchasing, verify that your rear hub is compatible with a standard Shimano-style cassette body and that your current shifter is indexed for 7 speeds.

The 11-28T range indicates the number of teeth on the smallest and largest cogs. This setup offers a versatile spread, providing a small 11-tooth cog for efficient pedaling on flats and a larger 28-tooth cog to help you tackle moderate climbs.

The nickel-plated steel construction is primarily there to resist corrosion and rust. While it is more durable than standard steel, you should still keep your drivetrain clean and lubricated to ensure smooth shifting and longevity.

While it is optimized for Shimano HG and IG chains, it will generally work with most standard 7-speed chains from other manufacturers. However, for the best shifting performance and to minimize wear, using a Shimano-compatible chain is recommended.
