Wheels Manufacturing Dropout 175

The Dropout 175 is designed specifically for Giant frames. Because derailleur hangers vary significantly between bike models and years, we strongly recommend visually comparing your current hanger to the product image or checking your bike manufacturer's specifications before purchasing.

Derailleur hangers are designed to be the 'weak link' in your drivetrain. If your bike falls or the derailleur strikes an object, the hanger is engineered to bend or break to protect your frame from expensive structural damage; having a spare ensures you can get back on the trail quickly if this happens.

Wheels Manufacturing hangers are precision-machined from 6061 aluminum, which is the industry standard for this application. They are engineered to match or exceed the specifications of the original equipment manufacturer's part.

If your current hanger is bent, replacing it with a new, perfectly aligned Dropout 175 will often resolve shifting issues. However, poor shifting can also be caused by cable tension or derailleur adjustment, so check those factors if the shifting remains inconsistent after installation.

Generally, you only need a set of hex keys (Allen wrenches) to remove the old hanger and bolt on the new one. While the installation is straightforward, ensure the mounting bolts are tightened to the manufacturer's recommended torque specifications to prevent movement.
