The 1/1 hub features 90 points of engagement, which translates to a 4-degree engagement angle. This provides near-instant power transfer when you start pedaling, making it highly responsive on technical climbs and tight trail sections.

This hub is designed for 148mm Boost spacing and uses a 12mm thru-axle, which is standard for most modern trail and enduro mountain bikes. It also features a 6-bolt disc mount, so ensure your rotors are compatible before purchasing.

Industry Nine designed the 1/1 series with maintenance in mind. The pawls and leaf springs are retained, meaning they won't fly out when you open the hub, making it straightforward to clean and re-grease without specialized tools.

This specific model comes with a SRAM XD freehub body, which is designed for SRAM 11 and 12-speed cassettes. If you are running a Shimano drivetrain, you would need to purchase a separate Shimano-compatible freehub body to swap onto this hub.

This hub uses a standard J-bend spoke interface. This is a great choice for custom wheel builds because J-bend spokes are widely available at almost any bike shop, making replacements easy to find if you break one on the trail.

The hub utilizes a robust labyrinth radial lip seal. This design creates a complex path that makes it difficult for water, mud, and grit to penetrate the bearing area, helping to extend the life of the internal components during wet-weather riding.
