These pads use a semi-metallic compound that bridges the gap between the two. You get the quiet operation and initial bite of a resin pad, but with the extended lifespan and heat resistance typically found in metallic options.

These pads are designed for four-piston calipers. They are compatible with a wide range of systems, including Shimano XTR (M9120), Saint, Deore XT (M8120/M8020), SLX (M7120), Deore (M6120), ZEE, and various TRP, Tektro, and SRAM Code models. Always verify your specific caliper model against the compatibility list before purchasing.

The steel backing plate provides excellent structural integrity, which helps prevent the pad from warping or fading under the sustained heat generated during long, aggressive descents. The semi-metallic compound is also more resistant to heat-induced brake fade than standard resin pads.

While no brake pad is completely silent in all conditions, the semi-metallic compound is engineered to minimize noise compared to full-metallic pads. You may experience some sound in extremely wet or gritty environments, but they are generally quieter than aggressive downhill-specific pads.

Since these pads use a cotter pin mount, installation is straightforward. You will typically need a pair of needle-nose pliers to remove and replace the cotter pin, along with a flat-head screwdriver or a brake piston press to push the pistons back into the caliper before inserting the new pads.
