Volume shifted means the board is designed to be ridden shorter and wider than a traditional snowboard. By increasing the width, you get the same surface area and float as a longer board, but with a more maneuverable, nimble feel that helps prevent toe drag for riders with larger boots.

With a flex rating of 7, this board is on the stiffer side and is designed for intermediate to advanced riders. It demands more precision and power, so it might be too aggressive if you are still learning the fundamentals of turning and edge control.

The C2x hybrid contour provides a solid, stable ride, but the real secret to its grip is the Magne-Traction edge technology. These serrated edges act like a steak knife to bite into icy or hard-packed snow, giving you confidence where standard edges might slip.

While it is built primarily for freeriding, powder, and steep terrain, the Stump Ape's shorter length makes it surprisingly playful. You can certainly hit side hits or take it through the park, but it is not a dedicated freestyle board and will feel stiffer than a true park deck.

Because of the volume-shifted design, you should generally size down from your standard board length. If you usually ride a 164cm or 166cm board, the 161cm Stump Ape will likely provide a similar amount of float and stability while feeling much quicker edge-to-edge.

The directional shape and 5.1 cm setback are optimized for forward-facing performance in deep snow and steep lines. While you can ride it switch, it will feel different than a true twin board, so it is best suited for riders who spend most of their time pointing the nose downhill.
