CaldWell AR500 IPSC Steel Target

This target is rated for high-velocity impacts up to 3000 fps and 3500 ft-lb of energy. While it handles standard rifle and pistol calibers well, you should always avoid using armor-piercing, steel core, or incendiary rounds, as these will damage the steel surface regardless of its rating.

The target features specific mounting points designed for 1/2-inch carriage bolts. While the target itself is ready for mounting, you will need to provide your own bolts and range stand setup to secure it properly.

The powder coat finish helps resist corrosion, but you should keep the target dry when not in use. If you notice significant pitting or surface damage over time, you can lightly sand and repaint it with a high-quality, high-visibility spray paint to maintain the target's contrast.

While the target is durable, it is generally recommended to maintain a safe distance of at least 10 yards for handguns and 100 yards for rifles. Always ensure the target is mounted at a slight downward angle to safely deflect bullet fragments toward the ground.

AR500 is a specific grade of abrasion-resistant steel that has been heat-treated to be exceptionally hard yet ductile. This allows the surface to withstand repeated high-velocity impacts without cracking or deforming, making it the industry standard for long-lasting shooting targets.
