Dynex is significantly more hydrophobic than nylon, meaning it absorbs almost no water. This makes it ideal for ice climbing or alpine routes where freezing temperatures can turn standard nylon slings into stiff, unmanageable blocks.

It is designed for both. You can use it as a standard quickdraw for sport climbing, or fully extend the sling to reduce rope drag on wandering trad or multi-pitch routes.

The HoodWire technology creates a snag-free nose, which prevents the carabiner from catching on your gear, rope, or bolt hangers while you are clipping or cleaning. It offers the smooth handling of a keylock carabiner while maintaining the lightweight benefits of a wiregate.

The 60cm length is the standard for alpine and trad climbing because it provides enough extension to minimize rope drag on wandering routes. If you are primarily sport climbing on straight-up routes, you might find a shorter, stiffer quickdraw easier to handle.

While the sling is thin at 10mm, Dynex is exceptionally abrasion-resistant and strong. It is built to handle the rigors of granite and ice without compromising safety, provided you inspect it regularly for signs of wear.
