Marucci AP5 Pro Model Wood Bat

Bone-rubbing is a technique where the wood surface is compressed using a bone or similar hard object. This process closes the wood's pores, increasing surface hardness and durability, which helps the bat resist dents and cracks during impact.

The AP5 is a versatile model. While it features a large barrel designed for power, the balanced swing weight and tapered handle make it equally effective for contact hitters who prioritize bat speed and control through the zone.

The drop weight is the difference between the bat's length in inches and its weight in ounces. A -3 ratio means a 33-inch bat will weigh 30 ounces, which is the standard weight requirement for most high school and collegiate baseball leagues.

The pro-cupped end removes a small amount of wood from the top of the barrel. This shifts the weight slightly toward the handle, creating a more balanced feel that allows for faster swing speeds and better control.

Like all maple wood bats, the AP5 is susceptible to breakage in cold temperatures. We recommend using this bat only in temperatures above 60 degrees Fahrenheit to prevent the wood from becoming brittle and prone to snapping.
